DALLAS (August 31, 2010) -- The Texas Instruments (TI) Foundation presented its Innovations in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Teaching Awards today to 10 teachers from the Dallas, Plano and Richardson Independent School Districts (ISD). These educators were also inducted into the TI Foundation’s STEM Academy as fellows.

Teach For America receives $750,000 grant from the Texas Instruments Foundation
Funding to support expansion of math and science education in Dallas Public Schools

DALLAS (June 7, 2010) - The Texas Instruments Foundation announced today a $750,000 grant to Teach For America to expand educational opportunities in math and science in North Texas public schools.  The funds, which will be distributed over three years, will support training and professional development for Teach For America's math and science teachers in Dallas traditional and charter public schools.

Texas Instruments Foundation gives $3 million to train math and science teachers at local schools and universities
Partnership with proven programs aims to boost capability and increase numbers
DALLAS (Sept. 9, 2009) - The Texas Instruments Foundation today announced grants of $3 million to train existing middle and junior high school teachers in advanced math and science and to increase the number of such teachers who graduate from local universities.

This investment is consistent with the Texas Instruments Foundation's focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and its mission to substantially strengthen the number of high-school graduates who are capable of advanced math and science by focusing on teachers - the most critical link in the learning chain.

HIV/AIDS programs undergoing cutbacks get support from TI Foundation
DALLAS (May 30, 2008) - The Texas Instruments (TI) Foundation is granting $50,000 to the AIDS Interfaith Network (AIN) to assist with general operations, which are faced with downsizing due to reductions in federal government funding. AIN is a faith-based HIV/AIDS service organization that provides prevention programs and direct care services to meet the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of people suffering from HIV/AIDS.

$2M Texas Instruments Foundation gift endows engineering leadership position at SMU

TI Foundation’s grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters expands Math and Science Mentoring Initiatives
Pilot program seeks to increase Dallas ISD students’ interest in math and science
DALLAS (February 22, 2008) - The Texas Instruments (TI) Foundation is granting $50,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of North Texas to fund programs for 40 seventh and eighth grade students in the Dallas Independent School District (ISD) who are enrolled in the Math and Science Mentoring Initiatives pilot program. Each student will receive scholarships for math/science initiatives including tutoring, fair or camp fees. The funding will also provide year-long support and training for each student’s mentor.

TI Foundation and UT Dallas establish TI Science Camp; Technology Innovation Fund
DALLAS (February 6, 2008) - The Texas Instruments (TI) Foundation announced today a grant of $332,400 to The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) over a three year period to create a “TI Science & Technology Innovation Fund”. The fund will support innovation and entrepreneurial development camps for high school juniors and seniors to increase interest in careers in science and technology. It will also provide scholarships to UT Dallas engineering and science students who take entrepreneurship courses.

TI Foundation's $1.1M Grant to UNT Dallas Campus Establishes Scholarship Fund for Future Math and Science Educators
TI Math Scholars Program Aims to Add to the Diversity of Math Teachers in Dallas-Area School Districts
DALLAS (March 5, 2007) -- Underscoring its commitment to building tomorrow’s workforce through higher education, the Texas Instruments Foundation has presented the University of North Texas Dallas Campus with a $1.1 million grant to establish the TI Math Scholars program. The program’s goal is to encourage more students, especially from underrepresented groups such as minorities and women, to seek bachelor’s degrees in mathematics with math teacher certification. Students selected for this program must agree to teach in Dallas-area school districts for a minimum of two years upon graduation.
