Exciting changes to our giving programs in 2008!

The Home Depot and The Home Depot Foundation have a longstanding tradition of giving back where our associates live and work. The Home Depot Foundation is dedicated to building homes for working families that are healthy to live in and affordable to own.

In 2007 alone, community giving by The Home Depot and The Home Depot Foundation helped build more than 12,000 affordable homes and plant more than 300,000 trees. Through Team Depot, our associates have invested more than 530,000 hours of service in our communities. Over the next decade, we will help build 100,000 homes and plant three million trees.

Matching Gift Program:

The Home Depot Matching Gift registration has gone paperless in an effort to reduce the volume and cost of issuing paper forms.  This will save trees and the environment, and speed processing time.  Spread the word!

In 2007, the Matching Gift Center matched more than $4.6 million in charitable contributions made by Home Depot associates. These gifts extend the reach of The Home Depot Foundation’s charitable giving program and encourage associates to be actively involved in supporting their communities.   It allows associates to help determine how to spend a portion of the company’s philanthropic resources and will help local nonprofits develop stronger relationships with The Home Depot.  Please support the charities of your choice through volunteerism and financial support!

Team Depot Tracker & Team Depot Dollars Grant Program:

With the Team Depot Tracker Web site and Team Depot Dollars grant program it will be easier to plan your projects and you can turn your volunteer hours into a grant to the nonprofit of your choice.

Volunteers searching for projects near their store or another location can view and sign up for projects by visiting the Team Depot Tracker Web site at any time – even from home!

Once you’ve signed up for and participated in a project, head back to the Team Depot Tracker Web site to confirm your hours. After completing 8 hours at a company-sponsored project, you can turn those hours into Team Depot Dollars to be donated to any nonprofit organization you choose!

Are you a Team Depot Captain who wants to recruit volunteers for your upcoming project? Make sure you register your project on the new Team Depot Tracker Web site found at www.givingprograms.com/homedepot.
